The Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) Card is a mandatory permit for trekking in most regions of Nepal. It helps the government monitor trekkers, ensure safety, and provide support during emergencies.

Purpose of TIMS Card

• Register all trekkers visiting Nepal
• Ensure trekkers’ safety and provide information to authorities

Who Needs a TIMS Card?

• All independent trekkers in regions outside restricted areas
• Required for popular trekking destinations like Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, and more
• TIMS is not required for certain restricted regions, which have their own permits

Types of TIMS Card

1. Individual TIMS Card

• For: Solo trekkers or small groups
• Cost: USD 20
• Validity: Duration of the trek

2. Group TIMS Card

• For: Groups of trekkers (minimum 5 members)
• Cost: USD 10 per person
• Validity: Duration of the trek

How to Obtain a TIMS Card

• Through licensed trekking agencies like Peak Path Travels
• At Nepal Tourism Board offices in Kathmandu or Pokhara
• Provide passport copy and passport-sized photographs
• Pay applicable fees
